The Arabian Racing Organisation is delighted to announce this afternoon that The Arabian Racehorse magazine will be sponsoring a 1m2f conditions race to be held at Newbury on Tuesday 22nd June. The race is open to horses aged four years an upwards and will be run for a prize fund of £2000. In addition, the winning owner will receive an original bronze trophy to the value of £650, plus mementoes to the trainer and jockey.
The Arabian Racehorse’s editor, Debbie Burt commented: “I am delighted to be sponsoring this race as it falls in an important time in the calendar, it is the first opportunity for our higher rated horses to run over the classic distance of a mile and a quarter. With valuable races in Europe around that trip over the summer, including at Goodwood at the end of July, it is an ideal race for connections to use as a springboard to those bigger contests.
“However, it is not just about the big players, as being a conditions race, it is open to all. There will be a best turned out prize of a framed photo of their horse to the winning groom and connections of every horse declared will receive a hi-res digital image of their horse, free of charge.”
Genny Haynes, ARO Commercial and Finance Director said: “ARO is extremely grateful for Debbie’s continued support, as she has been sponsoring races under various titles with ARO since 2012, whilst the magazine she produces has been supporting UK Arabian racing since 2015.”
“We also thank Newbury racecourse for their support of our racing this season and we look forward to returning there in June.”
