Dubai International Arabian Races
Under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, DIAR aims to promote and develop the sport of Arabian horse racing. DIAR sponsors a series of preparatory races across Europe culminating in the annual Dubai International Arabian Races held at Newbury at the end of July. HH Sheikh Mansoor Festival
The Festival was launched in 2009 supporting Purebred Arabian Flat racing worldwide through a number of initiatives. The Festival hosts a series of races: HH Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Cup races (which are Group or Listed class); the HH Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies World Championship and the HH Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Apprentice World Championship, the individual winners of each stage qualify to ride in the finals in Abu Dhabi in November each year. Whilst the Wathba Stallions Series supports the grass-roots of Arabian Racing. The most valuable race of the Festivals’ sponsorship is the Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Jewel Crown (Gr1PA) also held in Abu Dhabi in November, which is by invitation only. The HH Sheikh Mansoor Festival also hosts an annual World Conference promoting Arabian racing and breeding in a different country each year, Abu Dhabi is scheduled to be the host in 2020.
The Royal Cavalry of Oman
The Royal Cavalry of Oman have been involved with ARO for over ten years, supporting UK Arabian racing at every level with a range of single races as well as The Sultanate of Oman Raceday. In recent years they have also become one’s the world’s premier owner-breeders with their homebred horses winning the French and UK Arabian Derbys, as well as many other premier races. The Royal Cavalry of Oman was establishe din 1971 are dedicated to the promotion and development of all equine disciplines. They have a satellite base at Wargrave, Berkshire from which they breed and train horses in the UK, as well as in France and Oman.
Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club
The Qatar Racing & Equestrian Club was established in 1975. Located in New Rayyan, Doha, it has the mission of developing thoroughbred and Purebred Arabian horse racing events, organising Arabian horse shows and providing support to owners and breeders. Due to its state-of-the-art facilities Qatar Racing & Equestrian Club is one of the most enviable horse training centres in the world. The ARO stages the Qatar International Stakes (Gr1PA) as part of the Goodwood Festival, which is the UK’s most valuable Arabian race.
Forta Stud is a small-scale program that breeds Purebred Arabian horses for Racing. Based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, Forta Stud treasures the Arabian horse for its strength, soundness, stamina, grace, and personality. With their broodmares having diverse origins including: Crabbet, Egyptian, French, Polish, and Russian bloodlines, Forta Stud strive for continuous improvement, with horse welfare at the forefront.
The Arabian Racehorse Magazine
The Arabian Racehorse Magazine is the only free, regular digital publication with worldwide distribution supporting UK Arabian racing, plus coverage of pattern races overseas. Published by Equine Creative Media who have supported ARO since 2012 sponsoring races and providing original bronze trophies and photographs to winning connections and Best Turned Out Awards to the grooms.
Shadwell Stud & Shadwell Arabian Stallions
Shadwell Stud and Shadwell Arabian Stallions are the thoroughbred and Arabian breeding operations of ARO Patron, HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Shadwell Arabian Stallions stand eight stallions in the UK, France and Italy with the assistance of their partner studs. From their UK base in Norfolk, they manage the careers of their top-class Group winning stallions; care for their private broodmare band; co-ordinate the racing of their horses across Europe and support a comprehensive schedule of race and event sponsorship to support the sport of Arabian horse racing globally.
Rossdales Veterinary Surgeons
Rossdales is the largest independent equine veterinary practice in the UK, offering first opinion and referral veterinary services. They have a long-established association with the racing and breeding industries in and around Newmarket, and many of their veterinary surgeons are highly experienced in other disciplines, working with all types of sport and leisure horses. Rossdales have been sponsoring with ARO since 2018 and presented the ARO Championship Trophies at ARO’s final race of 2019 which they sponsored at Lingfield Park.
UAE President Cup
The UAE President Cup is Purebred Arabian racing’s oldest classic series, hosting races in 12 countries worldwide in 2019. Held under the patronage of the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, with the support of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
They resumed their association with the UK Arabian Derby in 2016 with the race held annually as part of the Doncaster St Leger Festival in September.
