Dubai International Arabian Races
Under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, DIAR aims to promote and develop the sport of Arabian horse racing. DIAR sponsors a series of preparatory races across Europe culminating in the annual Dubai International Arabian Races held at Newbury at the end of July. Shadwell Stud & Shadwell Arabian Stallions
Shadwell Stud and Shadwell Arabian Stallions are the thoroughbred and Arabian breeding operations of ARO Patron, HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Shadwell Arabian Stallions stand seven stallions in the UK and Italy with the assistance of their partner studs. From their UK base in Norfolk, they manage the careers of their top-class Group winning stallions; care for their private broodmare band; co-ordinate the racing of their horses across Europe and support a comprehensive schedule of race and event sponsorship to support the sport of Arabian horse racing globally.
HH Sheikh Mansoor Festival
The Festival was launched in 2009 supporting Purebred Arabian Flat racing worldwide through a number of initiatives. The Festival hosts a series of races, the most prominent of which are the HH Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Cup races, which are Group or Listed class.The most valuable race of the Festivals’ sponsorship is the Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Jewel Crown (Gr1PA) held in Abu Dhabi in November, which is by invitation only.
Wathba Stallions Cup
As part of the HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nahyan Racing Festival the Wathba Stallions Cup Series supports the grassroots of Arabian Racing.
Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club
The Qatar Racing & Equestrian Club was established in 1975. Located in Doha, Qatar, it has the mission of developing thoroughbred and Purebred Arabian horse racing events, organising Arabian horse shows and providing support to owners and breeders. ARO stages the Qatar International Stakes (Gr1PA) over a mile as part of the Goodwood Festival, which is the UK’s most valuable Arabian race.
UAE President Cup
The UAE President Cup is Purebred Arabian racing’s oldest classic series, hosting races in 12 countries worldwide in 2020. Held under the patronage of the President, HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, with the support of HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
The UAE President Cup resumed it’s association with the UK Arabian Derby in 2016 with the race now held annually as part of the Doncaster St Leger Festival in September.
The Royal Cavalry of Oman
The Royal Cavalry of Oman have been involved with ARO for over ten years, supporting UK Arabian racing at every level with a range of single races as well as The Sultanate of Oman Raceday. In recent years they have also become one’s the world’s premier owner-breeders with their homebred horses winning the French and UK Arabian Derbys, as well as many other premier races. The Royal Cavalry of Oman was established in 1971 are dedicated to the promotion and development of all equine disciplines. They have a satellite base at Wargrave, Berkshire from which they breed and train horses in the UK, as well as in France and Oman.
The Arabian Racehorse Magazine
First published in 2015, The Arabian Racehorse magazine is the only free, regular digital publication supporting UK Arabian racing and includes coverage of pattern races overseas. With a worldwide distribution, it is published by Equine Creative Media who have supported ARO since 2012 through race sponsorship, with original bronze trophies and photographs to winning connections and Best Turned Out Awards to the grooms.
Baileys Horse Feeds
Baileys Horse Feeds remains quite unique in being family owned and run since its inception in 1982. They manufacture to a strict code of feed safety and their “drug-free” premises are accredited to the Universal Feed Assurance Scheme (UFAS) and conform to EU and UK legislation governing animal feedstuff manufacture. Their feeds are also monitored for the presence of specified naturally occurring prohibited substances (NOPS) as defined by the rules of racing and the FEI. Baileys Horse Feeds have been supporting UK Arabian racing at a variety of levels since 2017, from Best Turned Out Awards to race sponsorship.
Baker McVeigh International
The internationally renowned Baker McVeigh equine clinics were founded in 1963 by Dr Brian Baker in Summerveld, in the heart of Kwa-Zulu Natal. Baker’s pursuit of service excellence soon established the fledgling practice as one of the most sought-after equine hospitals in South Africa, performing standing geldings and tie backs long before their colleagues in Europe. Today Baker McVeigh International is a group of equine veterinarians with branches in the UK, South Africa and France, with over 30 vets and 14 partners worldwide.
Zayin Arabian Stud
Established in the South West of England in 1998 by Paul Simmons, the stud specialises in breeding performance Arabians for racing and endurance. A long-term supporter of UK Arabian racing, success highlights include Zayin Zachilles win in the NAIP Handicap at Dubai International Arabian Races.
