ARO 2011 Single Race:-

Saturday 23rd July

His Highness the President's Cup (UK Arabian Derby) (Group 1 PA)

In 2011, Ascot Racecourse will play host to the annual His Highness the President's Cup (UK Arabian Derby) (Group 1 PA) for the third year running. The race attracts the very best 4 year old Arabian Racehorses in training from all over the world and this year they will be competing for a prize fund of £50,000.

The Arabian race will follow the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes which commemorates the current Queen Elizabeth's late parents and is the European mid season middle distance championship. With £750,000 on offer, the "King George" is Ascot's most valuable and most important race. The supporting card is second to none with the £150,000 totesport International Handicap, the big betting race of the day, and the Group Three Princess Margaret Independent Newspaper Stakes, a traditional pointer towards the following season’s 1,000 Guineas.

This racemeeting is a dazzling day out of style, fashion, sophistication and excitement. Outside of Royal Ascot this is a date for your diary and a definite occasion to purchase a new hat! The fashion stakes at this event are as high as at Royal Ascot in a more relaxed and intimate atmosphere.

The Racecourse

Ascot is one of the country's leading racecourses and home to the world renowned Royal Ascot Meeting. The racecourse was founded by the Queen and is located on Crown property.

In 2004, the course began the largest ever redevelopment seen in Europe over a 20 month period; the focal point undoubtedly being the new Grandstand itself. The Grandstand's distinctive design is defined by the spectacular parasol roof suspended on ‘structural trees’. The new racecourse was officially opened by HRH The Queen on 20th June 2006.

   Course characteristics:-
Right handed, galloping, testing track.
